(Тропар Воскресний ­ Голос 6)  Ангельські сили на гробі Твоїм і ті, що стерегли, умертвіли, і стояла Марія у гробі, шукаючи пречистого тіла Твого.  Полонив Ти ад, не спокушений ним; зустрів єси Діву, даруючи життя.  Господи, що воскрес із мертвих, слава Тобі.

(Тропар Отців ­ Голос 8)  Препрославлений Ти, Христе Боже наш, що Отців наших наче світла на землі поставив і через них до віри істинної нас усіх привів, Многомилосердний, слава Тобі.

(Тропар Вознесіння ­ Голос 4)  Вознісся єси у славі, Христе Боже наш, радість вчинивши ученикам обітуванням Святого Духа, утвердивши їх благословенням, що Ти єси Син Божий, Визволитель світу.

Слава Отцю, і Сину, і Святому Духові.

(Кондак Отців ­ Голос 8)  Апостолів проповіді та отців догмати єдину віру Церкви потвердили; вона зодягнена в ризу істини, з Богословія небесного виткану, правдиво навчає і славить велику таємницю побожності.

І нині, і повсякчас, і на віки віків.  Амінь.

(Кондак Вознесіння ­ Голос 6)  Сповнивши промисел щодо нас, і з'єднавши земних із небесними, вознісся Ти у славі, Христе Боже наш, ніяк не відлучаючись, але невідступне перебуваючи і взиваючи до тих, що люблять Тебе: Я з вами, і ніхто проти вас.

(Прокимен Отцям ­ Голос 4)  Благословен єси, Господи, Боже отців наших, і хвальне, і прославлене Ім'я Твоє навіки.

(Діян 20:16-18, 28-36)  Тими днями...  Бо Павло захотів поминути Ефес, щоб йому не баритися в Азії, бо він квапився, коли буде можливе, бути в Єрусалимі на день П'ятдесятниці.  А з Мілету послав до Ефесу, і прикликав пресвітерів Церкви.  І, як до нього вони прибули, він промовив до них: Ви знаєте, як із першого дня, відколи прибув в Азію, я з вами ввесь час перебував, Пильнуйте себе та всієї отари, в якій Святий Дух вас поставив єпископами, щоб пасти Церкву Божу, яку власною кров'ю набув Він.  Бо я знаю, що як я відійду, то ввійдуть між вас вовки люті, що отари щадити не будуть.  Із вас самих навіть мужі постануть, що будуть казати перекручене, аби тільки учнів тягнути за собою.  Тому то пильнуйте, пам'ятаючи, що я кожного з вас день і ніч безперестань навчав зо слізьми ось три роки.  А тепер доручаю вас Богові та слову благодаті Його, Який має силу будувати та дати спадщину, серед усіх освячених.  Ні срібла, ані золота, ні одежі чиєїсь я не побажав.  Самі знаєте, що ці руки мої послужили потребам моїм та отих, хто був зо мною. Я вам усе показав, що, працюючи так, треба поміч давати слабим, та пам'ятати слова Господа Ісуса, бо Він Сам проказав: Блаженніше давати, ніж брати!  Проказавши ж оце, він навколішки впав, та й із ними всіма помолився.

Євангелія

(Ів. 17:1-13)  По мові оцій Ісус очі Свої звів до неба й промовив: Прийшла, Отче, година, прослав Сина Свого, щоб і Син Твій прославив Тебе, бо Ти дав Йому владу над тілом усяким, щоб Він дав життя вічне всім їм, яких дав Ти Йому.  Життя ж вічне це те, щоб пізнали Тебе, єдиного Бога правдивого, та Ісуса Христа, що послав Ти Його.  Я прославив Тебе на землі, довершив Я те діло, що Ти дав Мені виконати.  І тепер прослав, Отче, Мене Сам у Себе тією славою, яку в Тебе Я мав, поки світ не постав.  Я Ім'я Твоє виявив людям, що Мені Ти із світу їх дав.  Твоїми були вони, і Ти дав їх Мені, і вони зберегли Твоє слово.  Тепер пізнали вони, що все те, що Ти Мені дав, від Тебе походить, бо слова, що дав Ти Мені, Я їм передав, і вони прийняли й зрозуміли правдиво, що Я вийшов від Тебе, і ввірували, що послав Ти Мене.  Я благаю за них.  Не за світ Я благаю, а за тих, кого дав Ти Мені, Твої бо вони!  Усе бо Моє то Твоє, а Твоє то Моє, і прославивсь Я в них.  І не на світі вже Я, а вони ще на світі, а Я йду до Тебе.  Святий Отче, заховай в Ім'я Своє їх, яких дав Ти Мені, щоб як Ми, єдине були!  Коли з ними на світі Я був, Я беріг їх у Ймення Твоє, тих, що дав Ти Мені, і зберіг, і ніхто з них не згинув, крім призначеного на загибіль, щоб збулося Писання.  Тепер же до Тебе Я йду, але це говорю Я на світі, щоб мали вони в собі радість Мою досконалу.

(Resurrectional Tropar ­ Tone 6)  The angelic powers were at Your tomb.  The guards became as dead men.  Mary stood by Your grave seeking Your Most Pure Body.  You captured hades, not being tempted by it.  You came to the Virgin, granting life.  O Lord Who arose from the dead:  Glory to You.

(Tropar of the Holy Fathers ­ Tone 8)  You are most glorious, O Christ our God.  You have established the Holy Fathers as lights on the earth, and through them You have guided us all to the True Faith.  Glory to You, O most Compassionate One.

(Tropar of the Ascension ­ Tone 4)  You have ascended in glory, O Christ our God, having gladdened Your disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit.  They were assured by the blessing that You are the Son of God, the Redeemer of the world.

Glory to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

(Kondak of the Holy Fathers ­ Tone 8)  The preaching of the Apostles and doctrines of the Fathers have confirmed the one faith of the Church.  Wearing the Robe of Truth, woven from theology on high, she rightly dispenses and glorifies the mystery of piety.

Both now, and ever, and unto the ages of ages.  Amen.

(Kondak of the Ascension ­ Tone 6)  When You had accomplished Your Divine Plan for us and had united things on earth with the heavens, You ascended in glory, O Christ our God.  Yet in no manner did You depart from us.  Rather, You abide with us forever and You cry out to those who love You: I am with you and none shall be against you.

Epistle

(Acts. 20:16-18, 28-36)  In those days…  For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not lose time in Asia; for, if it were possible for him, he hastened to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.  And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the presbyters of the church.  And when they had come to him, he said to them: You know how I was with you at all times, from the first day I arrived in Asia, Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you bishops, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood.  For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also men shall arise from your own selves, speaking perverse things in order to draw disciples away after them.  Therefore watch and remember that for the time of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.  And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.  I have coveted no man's silver or gold or apparel.  Yea, you yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my needs, and to those who were with me.  I have shown you all things, that working in this way we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said: It is more blessed to give than to receive.  And saying these things, kneeling, he prayed with them all.

(Jn. 17:1-13)  Jesus spoke these words and lifted up His eyes to Heaven and said: Father, the hour has come.  Glorify Your Son so that Your Son also may glorify You, even as You have given Him authority over all flesh so that He should give eternal life to all You have given Him.  And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.  I have glorified You upon the earth.  I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.  And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself with the glory which I had with You before the world was.  I have revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world.  They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.  Now they have known that all things, whatever You have given Me, are from You.  For I have given to them the Words which You gave Me, and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from You.  And they have believed that You sent Me.  I pray for them. Спільні джерела походження магії і астрології

(Продовҗення)  Це відбулося через те, що людина від спілкування з нечистими духами і використання їх „дарів“: магії, чаклунства, астрології й іншого остаточно розпустилася, тобто відпала від Бога і виявилася не в змозі виконувати ту задачу, для якої була створена, не змогла реалізувати себе в добрі, любові й істині, підіймаючись по сходах духовного розвитку до богоуподібнення Подальше існування його стало безглуздим.

Тому Господь спочатку скорочує дні життя людини до 120 років (Бут. 6, 3) - Адам і його діти й онуки жили до 1000 років (Бут. 5), - а потім при подальшому множенні нечестя знищує і все людство, що розбестилося, залишивши тільки кращих його представників в особі праведного Ноя і його синів із дружинами (Бут. 6, 9-10).

Як видно з усього вищенаведеного, магія, астрологія й інший „дари“ демонів не тільки не привели до процвітання людства, до встановлення щастя на землі, а навпаки, помножили злобу, нечестя, розпусту, що привело до загибелі практично усього древнього світу.

Однак після потопу таємні знання по магії й астрології не зникають, по численних свідченнях древніх ці знання були надійно скриті, а після потопу знову запропоновані людству, що розвивалось.  Якщо ми простежимо історію людства після Ноя, то побачимо, що ті древні цивілізації, у яких магія, астрологія й інші „таємні знання“ одержують найбільше поширення і входять у структуру суспільства, гинуть і зникають з обличчя землі як тільки розквіт окультизму в них досягає свого апогею.  Прикладом тому є Вавілонське, Ассірійське і Перське царства.

Докладніше зупинимося на історії древнього Вавилона.  У клинописах, що походять відтіля, яких у музеях світу нараховується до півмільйона, містяться зведення, що жерці Вавилона успадковували знання особливо в області астрології і світобудови.  Вавілонський історик і жрець Берос (III в. до н.е.) також свідчить про збереження магічних знань після потопу.  Нарешті, пам`ять народів доносить зведення про початкових творців вавілонської традиції родах халдеїв, власниках культури деякого неземного знання, що були першими математиками, астрологами, алхіміками, теософами земного світу, що виконували службу чорнокнижників, ворожбитів і тлумачів снів при дворах древніх владик.  Халдейський же древній переказ наполягає на тому, що десять їхніх перших царів походять з неба.

Також відомо, що ніневійські царі не починали ніяких важливих справ без наради із зірками.  Вони мали при собі астрологів, що спостерігали небо і пояснювали плин планет, як про це часто згадують надписи.  З одного пам`ятника ми довідаємося, що Сеннахериб відмовився від походу тільки тому, що сполучення зірок виявилося несприятливим.  Заняття астрологією в Вавилоні було настільки поширене, що сама назва халдеїв позначалася в багатьох письменників стародавності астролога.  Усім відома доля Вавілонського царства, що перетерпіло страшну катастрофу і загибель.  Така ж доля постигла Ассірійське і Перське царства. 

Астрологія — один з найдавніших відомих культів; сучасна астрологія усе ще нагадує астрологію стародавності, хоча за минулі століття ця релігійна система піддалася істотним змінам.

У долині Межиріччя в часи розквіту халдейско-вавілонскої цивілізації були вибудовані величезні східчасті вежі — зиккурати (найвища з них цілком могла бути прообразом біблійної вавілонської вежі); халдейські жерці спостерігали з цих веж зоряне небо і вичерчували карти розташування небесних світил. Вони вірили, що Сонце, Місяць, планети і зірки — божества, здатні магічно вплинути на долю світу і кожної людини окремо, і вважали, що якщо їм удасться зрозуміти і пророчити рух небесних світил, вони зможуть пророкувати майбутнє. Астрологію такого роду називають вульгарною чи примітивною астрологією. Головний принцип вульгарної астрології у тім, що положення речей на землі і тенденції розвитку подій відповідають конфігурації небесних тіл. Астрологічні погляди релігії Ханаану, що представляла собою відгалуження релігії Межиріччя, були тісно зв`язані з поклонінням таким божествам як Ваал (Білий, Молох), Астарта (Іштар) і Ремфан, що ототожнювалися відповідно із Сонцем, Місяцем і Сатурном.

На цій стадії розвитку астрологів цікавила скоріше доля народів і передбачення різного роду великих катастроф, ніж доля окремих особистостей. Але з тих пір, як Вавилон був завойований персами, астрологи зосередили свої зусилля на складанні гороскопів, покликаних визначити майбутнє кожної окремої особистості, — доля людини, на їхню думку, була безпосередньо зв`язана з розташуванням світил у момент народження. Астрологію цього типу називають натальною, генетичною чи юридичною. Ця форма пророкування майбутнього була не єдиною галуззю мантики (гадання), але поступово астрологія стала відігравати головну роль.37

Перси-зороастрійці, навіть якщо вони і першими застосували астрологію для пророкування індивідуальної долі, запозичили знання про розташування світил у вавілонських жерців. Вавілоняни раніш інших установили зв`язок часів року з фазами місяця й обчислили лінію екліптики (річний шлях Сонця на тлі нерухомих зірок). Крім того, їм були відомі траєкторії планет (але не їхні дійсні орбіти).

У період перського панування сформувалося поняття про 12 знаків зодіаку. Пояс зодіаку, середня лінія якого утворена екліптикою, охоплює видимі траєкторії руху Сонця і планет і складає смугу шириною від 16 до 18 градусів, на всьому протязі небесної сфери. Пояс зодіаку розділений на 12 секцій, чи „знаків“, по 30 градусів кожний. Цим секціям були дані назви, що відповідають назвам сузір`їв, що знаходилися в них.  (Далі буде) 

THE HOLY APOSTLE CARPUS

Carpus was one of the Seventy Apostles. He was a follower and companion of the Apostle Paul by whom he was appointed as bishop of Varna in Thrace. He also preached the Gospel on Crete where he received St. Dionysius the Areopagite in his home. St. Dionysius testifies that Carpus was a man with an exceptionally pure mind, meekness and innocence and that the Lord Jesus, with His angels, appeared to him in a vision and that he never began the Divine Liturgy that he did not have a heavenly vision beforehand. Enduring many assaults for the Name of Christ, he finally suffered at the hands of the unbelieving Jews and was killed and, with his soul, took up habitation in the kingdom of God to delight eternally gazing upon the Lord in glory.

THE HOLY APOSTLE ALPHEUS

Alpheus was the father of two apostles from among the Twelve: James, the son of Alpheus and Matthew, the Evangelist. He ended his earthly life peacefully.

THE HOLY APOSTLES

The Holy Apostles, a company small, with heavenly light, illumined the world.  On the wings of the Spirit, covered the world, that with the same wings, they would gift to the world.  To palaces, shacks and mountains, they went, crossed the sea and on the road [they] perspired;  For them each day, a new battle and suffering was, wrestling with the world, battle without moaning.  Each day different, but the thought the same, thought on Christ and the vision of Christ.  What sort of day it will be, to them it was all the same, either in a palace or in prison to spend the night just to uphold Christ, in themselves, and with Him to quickly cover the earth.  Whatever kind of lunch or dinner, it was all the same, only that the Faith, throughout the world shines.  Honours or blows, to them it is all the same, only that Christ, over the world reigns.  Over them, winged angels hover and, as to their own brothers, they rejoiced in them.  Apostles holy, sons of God pillars of the Church on the foundation of Christ, even now, they labour and build up the Church although as suns, in heaven they shine.

About the Grace of God

"My Grace is sufficient for you" (2 Corinthians 12:9).  The Lord did not even spare His apostles from temptations.  That is why He gave them Grace!  When Satan himself began to malign the Apostle Paul, Paul prayed to God that Satan depart from him.  To that, the Lord replied: "My Grace is sufficient for you!"  That is, if you need to withstand Satan, for your endurance "My Grace is sufficient for you!"  If you need to struggle with Satan, again "My Grace is sufficient for you!" If you wish to defeat Satan, again "My Grace is sufficient for you!"  Grace is an all-inclusive weapon.  Grace is stronger than all opposition, than all assaults, than all the powers of darkness.  Grace is invincible and victorious.

Brethren, that is why we should pray to the Lord to give us His All-powerful Grace.  Grace is God within us.  Grace is the kingdom of God within us.  When the Grace of God is within us, then day is within our souls.  And day signifies light, knowledge and fearlessness.
