The Office of the Consistory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of
Canada announces that its Primate, His Eminence Metropolitan JOHN, by
the Grace of God Archbishop of Winnipeg and the Central Eparchy, took
ill April 29, 2009 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan while attending
a meeting of the Eparchial Council of the Central Eparchy. After being
examined by a physician in the local hospital there, it was decided to
transport His Eminence by ambulance to Regina, Saskatchewan. On April 30, 2009, His Eminence underwent a serious surgery but a
full recovery is expected.
