After Arrival Support For Refugees

If you need help, know Ukrainian refugees that need help or if you would like to help Ukrainian refugees, the information below is for you. You can always contact us if you have questions.

The Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid Committee at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Sobor is welcomes donations to help support refugees from Ukraine. We both accept and distribute donations in the place and at the time slots below.

  • Place: St.Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor (Cultural Center Lower Level – entry by Sadochok): 404 Meredith Road NE Calgary, Alberta T2E 5A6
  • Time
    • Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm MDT;
    • Saturdays 11:30 am to 4:00 pm MDT;
    • Sundays 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm MDT;
    • *Temporary location from July 6 to July 27, 2022. Our regular location is not accessible during this period. The new temporary location is Hillhurst United Church (1227 Kensington Close NW, Calgary, AB T2N 3J6)We are able to welcome refugees only during our regular hours above.
  • What we need and distribute to refugees:

Bedding (new items only)

Toiletries (new items only)

Miscellaneous (excellent condition only)

  • Bed sheet sets;
  • comforters;
  • pillows and pillow cases;
  • blankets, duvets and duvet covers;
  • towels.
  • Dish soap (incl. pods);
  • laundry soap (incl. pods);
  • deodorant (mens' and women’s);
  • shampoo and conditioner;
  • body wash and bath sponges;
  • shower curtains and hooks;
  • shaving supplies;
  • moisturizing cream and lip balm;
  • face and body lotions.
  • Pots and pans;
  • plates and kitchenware;
  • mugs and glasses;
  • electric kettles;
  • socket plug adapters (Ukraine to Canada) and iPhone / smartphone chargers.
  • We are unable to accept any clothing.

How you can help: We need volunteers to help collect and distribute packages:

  • donate the items above;
  • prepare and help distribute;
  • if you are a refugee and want to give back to your community as a volunteer, come and join us!
